Wind Energy Finds More Free Power

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has developed a new technique to capture extra energy from high winds. Using a step by step method, a wind turbines' rotor will adjust so that when the wind speeds are greater than average the rotor speeds up and will store the excess energy. This energy is then released when the wind power falls below average.
This algorithm method takes advantage of the wind energy more effectively to, in turn, improve the overall efficiency and potenially increase the potential energy from a single farm without having to add more turbines.
