How Did You Use Your World Water Day Today?

I wasn't sure how to celebrate today's event (besides purchasing a few Charity: Water's this morning. I'm planning on giving them to my family for Easter tomorrow.) I decided after breakfast to go about my day as I would normally except that I am going to take a real notice of how much water I use.
To say that I need water in order to stay alive is an understatement.
As soon as I woke up I realized that I needed water just to start my day.. brushing my teeth, showering, and going to the bathroom. Then I need to drink it, I need it to make coffee, I need it to clean my fruits and veggies and I realized as I'm unloading my dishwasher that I also use it to clean. All before 10 a.m.
After getting dressed in my clean, previously washed clothes, I remembered that I wanted to put my plants outside today (It is so nice out) and water them. I also had to give Giant, the new pup, some water and Reptar, the iguana, some too. At this point I needed some more for myself as well.
Then I had some tea.
Making an early dinner for myself (It's Saturday night, I'm planning on going out later), I effortlessly filled a pot up with water to boil some penne. I then cleaned more vegetables. I drank more water. Giant needed more too.
As I'm sitting and waiting for my dinner to finish cooking, I tried to imagine living in an area of the world that has next to no access to clean, usable water. The closest realization that I can bring myself to comprehend without actually living without water, is that moving forward, whether it be personal advancements in life or an entire country of people trying to better their world, has to be next to impossible. Without wells or proper irrigation, third world countries will not be able to advance themselves to a sustainable way of life.
So instead of spending X amounts of money on alcoholic beverages tonight, I decided to instead use that money to buy a couple more Charity: Waters. It's the least a girl living in NJ who has never known to be deprived of water can do.

.My neighbor using water to wash off his bike this evening.

.As I was finishing today's post Patrick gave Giant a bath.

.Reptar loves to swim.

.We also live on the water.

See You Again In 2010

In case you missed it there happened to be a lunar eclipse last night, the last one until 2010. The above is the best picture I could take with my Cannon powershot.. (If you can even see it.)
I do have a telescope and was able to fully experience the out-of-this-world show in close detail but unfortunately was not capable of documenting it. I recommend searching Google for more professional pictures.

I Am 23. Sholler!

Today is my 23 birthday. This past year has been an experience to say the least.
What year hasn't been though?
Some birthday wishes:
Even though I am growing ever fonder of New Jersey as the weeks go by (and I'm thinking that living on the shore this summer is going to be awesome), I am hoping that by this time next year I will have followed my brothers out to California.
And that Save The World or Else will have massive hits everyday.
Dream Big or Go Home!

It's Been Awhile

Sorry about the lack of postings this past week.

It's not that the world took a break (and I did not intentionally mean to do so either), I've just have been working a ton and have been horribly sick with a cold. Any moment I did have to myself,I've spent it curled in my bed.. reading.
(Check out the side bar to see the latest books I'm into.)
In happier news, my birthday is on Thursday !Wh00t! and I am going to try and make it up to you with as much news as possible..
So let's get to it!

No Snow Yet

My January Photo. Taken somewhere between my house here in Central New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The lucky folks living in the mountains of PA have had some snowfall this winter but here on the NJ coast I have yet to break out my sled.
Hopefully my February photo will be a snowier..

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Okay well his birthday was yesterday the 19th. It seems I spent too long on the Bee post. He'll understand.
This is a picture of me and my poppa dukes in Hollywood, CA.
(Notice the tiny Hollywood sign in the way background?)
And we are actually closer in life then this picture appears to portray.
He's my Dad, he's my best friend, my idol and my comic relief.
Love Ya Dad!

I have also slid down these falls

display that photo one day.

Maybe..

Happy Halloween Heroes!

I'll be the first one to make fun of myself.. I was a cat but you couldn't see my ears all night (dark hair + dark costume) so instead of me looking like I had a skyscraper on top of my head; I cropped them out. I'm doing my best cat impression, I guess. I am going to use this postal opportunity to let you know about a few things I am afraid of. Why not? It's Halloween.
First: Spiders. Now I know what your thinking, 'Yeah, mostly everyone is scared of spiders..' But I wasn't! It wasn't until this past summer when I was viciously attacked by a poisonous one in my sleep. I grew a lump on my arm the size of a golf ball. See:
Second: This bridge I came across in Lancaster, PA.
I set my
camera to night, took the pic and the result will forever haunt me.
Third: Haunted places or faulty cameras, whichever you prefer to call it. I
was a skeptic of ghosts myself until I took this third picture at a haunted bar, The Tannersville Inn, in the Poconos, PA. My friend Bridget and I were getting a VIP tour of the upstairs and unannounced to myself I took a picture of her strolling down the hallway. The result was, as you can see, a yellow orb/light trailing her. Creeeepy.
And finally getting lost/stranded/murdered while hiking through the wilderness. Because I very much enjoy hiking and apparently without my boots.

Happy Halloween!
Make sure to eat to much candy!
