Kenya's National Disaster Calls For International Help

"My government has with effect from today, declared the famine situation in the country a national disaster," stated the Kenyan president himself, Mwai Kibaki.
Roughly 10 million people are without food in Kenya, Africa today due to a severe drought that has gripped the country.
"I am therefore appealing to all our friends and development partners to assist us in meeting the shortfall of (401 million dollars) that will be needed to ensure the needs of 10 million Kenyans are met until the end of August this year," Kibaki states.
While a majority of the people are starving due to the loss of food, high inflation and the global surge in food prices are also factors to the situation. There has been no mention if the president of Kenya has reached out to President Obama for help. As you may recall, President Obamas' father is a native to the country. Source.
