Due to an unusual snowless winter, France plans on keeping the spirit of a white Christmas alive by covering the Eiffel Tower with artificial snow. But a french environmental association, Robin des Bois (Robin Hood), warns that the fake snow display would waste thousands of cubic meters of water. The group also accused the Eiffel Tower of "exploiting global warming" by hiding France's lack of snow with a fake Christmas at one of the world's most visited landmarks.
The tower's managing company rejected the charge, saying the Christmas operation would use "..No more than 60 cubic metres of water".
Initially, then many more cubic meters of water to keep it white because, ya know, the darn stuff keeps melting.
